Similar to the buttons on the MK.2, the buttons are placed in a three-row, five-column grid, and each button is 0.63 inches (16 mm) square. They are tactile as opposed to the touch-sensitive, haptic buttons on the original Stream Controller.
The unified touchscreen functionality of the first Stream Controller is absent from the tactile buttons of the Stream Controller X. Using swipe gestures over the initial Stream Controller's touch-sensitive buttons, which functioned as one big touchscreen, you could navigate across its pages.
The lower left and right corner buttons on the Stream Controller X are used for page navigation (lower right only on the first page, lower left only on the last page). Although their icons can be modified, these specific navigation buttons cannot be reprogrammed. As a result, the Stream Controller X only has 13 or 14 programmed buttons, depending on the page. The software for Loupe deck supports up to 14 pages; even without the navigation, that still leaves 184 programmable buttons, which should be sufficient for the majority of streamers. However, the fact that you cannot remove or even move these navigation keys is a little inconvenient.
The Stream Controller X's software:
The Stream Controller X requires Loupe deck's software to run. Although customizing a streaming deck is key, the Stream Controller X isn't a completely empty canvas right out of the box. It comes pre-loaded with a few presets, including four pre-made screens for broadcasting, social networking, Twitch chat, and sound effects. These screens feature symbols in Razer's distinctive green. The pre-loaded content allows you to use the Stream Controller X right away, though you'll eventually want to spend some time tailoring it to your particular needs.
The main features of Loupe deck are its dynamic profiles and workspaces, which are groups of tools (buttons) connected to particular programmes or video games. As long as you're using an app, Loupedeck's software automatically switches to that app's profile when you're in "dynamic mode," making the console effectively whatever you need it to be at any given time. Loupedeck offers native profile/plugin compatibility for a number of apps, with ready-made profiles for creative apps like Ableton Live, Final Cut Pro, VMix, and Adobe's creative suite as well as streaming apps like OBS, Twitch, and Streamlabs.
Of course, this is only a starting point; you may modify these pre-built profiles using Loupe deck's software, or you can make your own profiles and set them to open with particular programmes.
